YOU WILL BE A TEACHER OF MY WORD
Pastor John became a Christian May 8, 1992.
LA was in flames during the Rodney King riots.
Upon his conversion, John sensed that God would use him
to bring racial healing in Los Angeles.
Five days into his conversion
he attended his first prayer meeting.
He was brand new to the Christian faith.
During worship, he did not even know there was Christian music.
The pastor said it was time to prophecy.
He looked at John and said,
“John, please stand up.”
John stood up and received the prophecy.
Though John had never met the pastor,
he delivered intimate details about John’s past.
He confirmed his 5-day old conversion.
He then prophesied John‘s future ministry:
“Thus says the Lord:
John Teter, you will be a teacher of my word.”
The pastor gave John an audio tape
that recorded the staggering prophecy.
This is a daily reminder for him.
Just as Timothy was given the gift of teaching through prophecy
in the laying on of hands (1 Timothy 4:14),
So God rescued by John to study and teach the Word.
FEED MY SHEEP
Herman Melville once wrote,
“The strength of a city is based on the strength of her church.
And the strength of the church
is based on the strength of her pulpit.”
Sadly, if Dr. Clinton’s research is true,
7/10 churches today are built on shaky pulpits.
If the pastor does not eat,
how will the sheep be fed?
